Network & communicationsClearwater County fibre: every provider compared.
Clearwater County owns its fibre network and five internet providers sell service on it. Here is what each one charges, from its own website. Checked October 10, 2026.
The short answer.
- Same network, same fibre. Every provider uses the county's symmetrical fibre, so the speeds are the same at each tier. Price, terms, equipment and support are what differ.
- Bearspaw is cheapest at 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, at $64 and $99/month, $1 below Arrow. Its first-month-free offer needs a 24-month term.
- Mage is cheapest at 500 Mbps for now: $79.99/month for 12 months if you sign up by October 31, 2026. After the offer, or without it, Arrow's $85 is lowest at 500 Mbps.
- Arrow has no contract, charges $0 activation, has no hidden fees and includes a Wi-Fi gateway. Business fibre is $150 (500 Mbps) and $200 (1 Gbps), the lowest listed business prices. Arrow has been connecting rural Alberta since 2005, with roots back to 1998.
- Installation is the county's job, whoever you pick. Clearwater County's Fibre Connect program brings fibre to your property and installs the fibre unit. Your provider then switches on service; no extra construction is needed by any provider.
- Missing Link costs more at every tier but gives the first month free and 24/7 local support.

Questions.
Who provides internet on Clearwater County Broadband?
Clearwater County lists five providers on its fibre network: Arrow Technology Group, Bearspaw Networks, Mage Networks, Missing Link Internet and Northern Lights (checked October 10, 2026). The county owns the network; each provider sets its own prices.
Which Clearwater County fibre plan is cheapest?
At 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, Bearspaw Networks is lowest at $64 and $99/month, $1 below Arrow's $65 and $100. At 500 Mbps, Mage's early sign-up offer is $79.99/month for 12 months if you sign up by October 31, 2026; otherwise Arrow's $85 is lowest. Prices from each provider's own page, checked October 10, 2026.
Who installs fibre in Clearwater County?
Clearwater County does, not the internet provider. The county builds the network to the road, and its Fibre Connect program brings fibre from the road to your home, farm or business. After that, any approved provider can deliver service with no further construction (Clearwater County, "Building Fibre Internet"). With Arrow, activation can then normally be done remotely.
Do I pay a connection fee to the county?
The fibre drop from the road to your property is a county charge, separate from your provider. In November 2025 the county offered it at $399 for the first 100 metres during construction, rising to $1,500 afterwards (as reported by 94.5 Rewind Radio, November 21, 2025). Check market.cwcbb.ca for the current rate at your address.
How do I sign up?
Check your address on the Clearwater County Broadband marketplace (market.cwcbb.ca) and choose a provider there. Some providers, such as Mage, also take sign-ups directly.
