Clearwater County Broadband: a county-owned fibre network with a choice of providers

Clearwater County Broadband is a community-owned fibre network. The county built the network, and local internet providers use it to sell service, so residents get a choice. The county's provider page currently lists Arrow Technology Group, Bearspaw Networks, Mage Networks, Missing Link Internet and Northern Lights, and says more providers may be added.

Arrow's plans on the network

As listed on atg.ca/clearwater: Essential Fibre 100/100 Mbps at $65/month, Popular Fibre 500/500 Mbps at $85/month, Advanced Fibre 1 Gbps symmetrical at $100/month, and Premium Managed Fibre at $150/month. Business plans are $150/month for 500/500 Mbps and $200/month for 1 Gbps. Activation is $0, data is unlimited, taxes are extra, and home phone is a $25/month add-on. You check your address and choose a provider in the Clearwater County Broadband marketplace.

More funding for the network

In the January 30, 2026 federal and provincial announcement, Clearwater County's own project (UBFP-99263) received $20,567,888 to bring fibre to 630 households in Alhambra, Stauffer, Dovercourt, Chedderville, Burnstick Lake, Crammond, James River Bridge, Echo Valley, Bingley and Bearberry, with an estimated completion of March 2027.
